List of Over 200 Data Science College Programs

My previous list of Colleges with Data Science Degrees has grown very large, and numerous people have requested the ability to sort and/or filter. Thus, I built a new list. It is available at: Data Science Colleges. As far as I know, this is the most comprehensive list of data science programs available. Here are some of the features it offers:

  • Over 200 Programs
  • Certificate, Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate programs included
  • Sort and Filter Programs
  • US and International
  • Program Name
  • Location
  • Online Programs
  • Ability to download the raw data as CSV or JSON

Yes, you read that last one correctly. All the data is freely available for you. If you do use the data for something, I would love to know and potentially blog about it.

The list will continue to evolve. If you find any broken links or missing programs, please leave a comment. Also, please leave a comment if you can think of ways to improve the list.

Hi Ryan, this is just to inform you and other people of a new program based in London, it’s called Science to Data Science (S2DS, http://www.s2ds.org/) and it’s a great summer school running in August. I’ve participated in their first round and I thought I would inform you so that you can maybe add it to your list in case you’re not only focused on the US. Cheers!

      Martina,
Thanks for the information. I was not aware of that program. I don’t think it fits on this list since it is not a college program. However, I am considering creating a list of these bootcamp style programs. There are a number of them in the US and Europe.

      Thanks,
      Ryan

        Hi Ryan,

UC Berkeley also has a Master in Engineering degree that has a Data Science/Systems concentration (this is a bit different than the information science degree from ISchool).

Also, if you’re making a list of bootcamps/resources, I’m part of http://www.teamleada.com and I’d really appreciate it if you include us too! (we’re a free resource for people to practice data science).

        Cheers,
        Tristan

Thank you. When/If I create the bootcamp list, I will make sure to include Leada.

I thought I left a message about our program. Or did you not think it appropriate for the list?

The program is a B.S.B.A. with a major in Business Data Analytics in the College of Business (AACSB-accredited) at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR. This program is an actual undergraduate degree, not a certificate, and combines a knowledge of business with knowledge and skills in data analytics.

If you want to glance at the program description and curriculum, you can check here:

      Dr. Troboy,
Sorry, I did find your previous comment. I have added it to the list. Thanks for following up to make sure I added the program to the list.

Hi! The College of Charleston is in SC not VA. Our Data Science program is offered under the Department of Computer Science. Also, if you could refer the Data Science home page for more information. http://datascience.cofc.edu/
    Thank you!

Hey thank you Melissa. Sorry I got the state wrong. I updated the link. Also, in case you are interested, see the bottom comment at this page, http://datascience101.wordpress.com/2012/04/09/colleges-with-data-science-degrees/
A potential student is considering CofC, you might want to add a comment and maybe help recruit a student.

      Thanks,
      Ryan

Thanks for including our program at Arkansas Tech University!

It shows us as online, but we are mostly face-to-face. Can you correct that please?

We are in our fourth year, but we have already had a few graduates. Last spring, our graduates took starting salaries of $45K, $55K, and $69K, all in the state of Arkansas. We are blessed with some very large corporations that have their headquarters in our state, so that helps.

Thank you for collecting information on all these programs and making them so easy to filter. That’s a lot of work on your part but it is very much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Kim

      Thank you Kim,
I have made a note. The change should be showing soon. Sorry for the very slow response. I am glad to hear the program is going well.
