The Coursera platform will once again be hosting the amazing course Introduction to Data Science from the University of Washington. The course will
start June 30, 2014. It is free, and it will last 8 weeks.
Having taken the course the previous time it was offered, I would highly recommend the course for anyone interested in digging into data science.

if you’re already taking the coursers data science specialization, what would be the benefit of enrolling in this class?
I think there is definitely some overlap. The specialization is taught by Statisticians and the course I reference above is taught by a computer scientist. Therefore, I think the course above will cover some topics not in the specialization, such as databases and map-reduce.
